Don't you think that yours is a rather paternalistic AND emotional view? The people in East Germany now have had 16 years to compare systems. I leave it up to them to decide what they prefer instead of imposing an ideological perspective. Just as an aside, I do not believe that capitalism will survive this century in its present form if at all. A different age distribution and ever increasing numbers of people without job opportunities as a result of automation/robotics and globalization will result in very different voting patterns and either lead to a social democratic form of government or more likely to a pseudo democracy/social dictatorship where the ever fewer "haves" are the only ones that vote and rule the rest. Back to the future!
