"This opens the door to another issue: who is a terrorist?"

Unfortunately the term has become politicized and is being used by various and opposing groups to represent different things.

My definition is this: A terrorist is someone who is targeting innocents in order to influence their enemy.

Which we did to the Japanese when we nuked cities, btw. In order to take an authentic stand on this 'war on terror' we need to be VERY clear on who we are talking about and do our own Spring cleaning before proceeding too much further.

Insurgents are not terrorists by definition although some of them may engage in terrorism. The USA is not a terrorist nation but it is possible for our soldiers and contractors to commit acts of terrorism.

Torture is another key term that we need clarity on because it has also become politicized, unfortunately.
