What I saw (and who is to say it is true) was that Brown was talking to senior aides. He stated that talking to senior aides is the "same as talking to the President". Now, we all know that is not true, but where this breaks down is the comments made by the White House back in early September. Television coverage was everywhere and events of the moment were on the screen....Whether it was flooding of the inner city or Brown's stupid claim later that he (and the administration) didn't know about events in the convention center, it gives the impression of a Department out of sync. I mean, Walmart was fifty times more efficient. I think Brownie is probably most of the problem here, and I thought so back in September. Still, it doesn't build one's faith in government, local or Federal
