it's an Encyclopedia definition which is consistent with all of the major English dictionaries. Would you rather use some other language?

You want to explain what the difference is? To me it doesn't make sense to call some group a nationality if they have no nation. What exactly do you mean?

A nation can mean either a group with a national identity or a self governing political entity with defined territory that it is sovereign over (and is usually connected to a group with a national identity). I would use the term nation to refer to the later more often than the former, but if you want to specifically refer just to the latter you can use the term "nation-state".
