My brother built his workshop a few years back with mostly damaged or discontinued material from Lowes (damaged waferboard, busted bags of insulation, discontinued paneling and lighting fixtures, etc.). The roofing shingles were from a special order that was ordered wrong. The framing lumber he got from an old building he tore down. I think the only thing he payed full price for was the wiring. When he was done building, he went back to Lowes and re-did his yard with busted bags of grass seed and fertilizer he bought for 50 cents a bag.
