It teaches the little ones to work as a team, and to enjoy the successes of their friends in addition to their own. It teaches the coach patience.

There is no substitute for success in building self esteem. Attempts to do so without success result in sociopathic behaviors.

It is an absolute delight to see the kids enjoying themselves. It makes the whole experience worth it for the parents.
