But I have enough faith in the rest of America and its institutions to know that any attempt to postpone elections for security reasons would fail in a popular uproar.

There has been quite a popular uproar lately, calling for the government to please, please keep us all safe at any cost.

I hope we regain our senses before we reach a point of no return.
