No one has denied they resigned for policy reasons. I'm not sure, though, what "resign" means in this case, how big a sacrifice it is. This is a corollary duty, I think, so it's not like they're giving up their livelihood, in which case the protest doesn't have quite the weight. My sense of that arrangement is vague, though, and I'm not interested enough to research it. Yes, we know some folks disapproved. I'm just not sure that tells us much. There are always some who disapprove of something.
