They continually view the Constitution as simple law, and therefore completely miss its point Our constitution was in a big way, a product of the age of enlightenment. The production of this constitution and the events surounding its conception were magnificent. It is amazing that it still stands. Personally I feel we are long over due for a constitutional convention but that would probably require a violent revolution at this point, so not likely. "These young conservatives never personally got to see Nixon abuse his power." The problem is, left wingers have lost their compass and appear to be flailing wildly at any target they can find. The allegations of wild drunken debauchery associated with Cheney's hunting party were so over the line, it would be hard now to make any reasonable criticism of that event seem of value. Since most of us have been effected by tragic accidents at some time in our life, the treatment of Cheney also seemed cruel. The over the line innuendoes of Alito being a racist were so cruel that his approval by common people now is overwhelming. These are the things that are grabbing the attention of young people more than anything. No decent person wants to be associated with this type of spiteful and cruel venue. It has little to do with being liberal or conservative.
