Liberals, in the modern American political meaning of that term, are no more likely as conservatives to be unwilling to understand or accept thinking that is hostile to their preconceptions.

There are other meanings of the world liberal, one of which is close to libertarian, another of which means tolerant and broadminded. If you are using the last definition than you are stating a tautology.

Apparently you are trying to say simply that political liberals are more broad minded and tolerant than conservatives. If that is what you are trying to say than I would disagree. I would say rather that they are tolerant of different things.
