they ARE the extremists. I do them the credit of believing what they say. It is amazing to me, Nadine, that more people don't understand this!!! I see it all the time here in Seattle, where so many people are of the "blue state mentality" and you must as well where you live. So many folks just don't want to do much, if any, to prepare for a disaster (manmade or nature made, even) because they don't think either will happen here..."it wouldn't take out the whole city"...etc. Most of the folks I've talked to here think the terrorism is overblown....and don't want to talk at all about WTC I, or the USS Cole, the Embassies, Spain, Bali, or much of anyplace else, INCLUDING 9-11.... That's why I think it must be easier to be an ostrich.

There is war going on between jew and arab for control of all or part of greater palestine/israel. Terror was adopted because nothing else worked and Israel had the power. Thats their spiel not mine but it leaves open the possiblity that there could and should be a settlement and maybe given nixon to china it will be Hamas who will eventually gain enoudh political capital for running an honest regime that can do it. Did it ever matter what yasir said about terror or recognizing israel--nope he was as radical as them all. The iranians are a far bigger threat to world peace than hamas. Hamas is a local I/P problem and local problems can get solved--IRA, Yugo,--albeit not easily.
