We are capitalists and believe in equality of man - put those two together and your obligation as a patriot is to keep your population ahead of the productivity curve so that they can continue to get more for their labor. That doesn't work for "unskilled" labor. It's a commodity... the more supply vs. demand the lower the price (compensation). I suppose we could start arranging charters from the Congo... probably real cheap labor. A modern day version of the slave ships.
