One can imagine that Moslems take a jaundiced view of the cartoons when David Irving can be arrested for expressing opinions about the extent of German action in concentration camps.

That's precisely heresy and inquisition style rules. If you don't believe like us and say you don't, it's burning at the stake. Okay, they put the person in gaol rather than burn at the stake, but the principles are the same.

Believe, or shut up, or else.

It's nonsense that Europeans have free speech. There are all sorts of things one can't say or the law will be after you.

David Irving got 3 years instead of the maximum 10. He didn't recant completely, here is one of many of his "recantations".
1989: claimed , in Austria, that "gas chambers in Auschwitz never existed" Arrest order issued.
2006:Eichmann was a witness for the existence of gas chambers that I(David Irving) overlooked. All the other witnesses were ignored because they either were hallucinating or psychotic.

He went back to Austria knowing that an arrest order was still open.

He paraded his latest book, Hitler's War, in front of him while walking to the court room.

He said he was sorry that so many died. Doesn't admit that they were murdered.

The following countries have laws against Holocaust denial:
Belgium, France, Israel, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria
