No, if there is any chance to delay the war or not to use force, China would take it. Force is only the last resort. If you know one thing about China, that should be they are not war-like people.

China is now a toothless tiger<g>. Although if it is cornored too much, it will attack, voilently<g>

>>Heck maybe if China agreed to consider re-pegging the Yaun we'd turn the other cheek. <<

NO, not a chance<g>, don't even think about it<g>. Here is a clue, ask Japan to contribute their postal savings, I think the number is huge, somewhere around $6 trillion?

>>The US is now a bankrupt shell of a nation.<<

Bankrupt? maybe, still the only rogue state on this planet<g>. With all its nuclear weapons, so the US of A is still the most powerful one<g>

Bogged down in Iraq for many more years. At least another five years.

Patience is key to good sportsmanship, and time is on the side of the mainlanders. Sooner rather than later, Taiwan will become the Puerto Rico of China - totally dependent to the mainland. The Fujienese in Taiwan is not dumb. Chen will eventually be run out off the island and move to LA or NYCity.
