They said shiites attacked 100 Sunni mosques and killed 3 imams. Looks like the top of the pressure cooker is blowing off, they also said most likely the troops will see increased attacks because of this. Civil war will be bush legacy.

Did you hear Schieffer last night his comment on the Dubai scandal, "This is just Weird."

I cant find a reason to be on either side in this fight---al quaeda backed sunni baathists against iranian backed shiaa & the military arm of al saders army. Help the Kurds and try to seal the borders as best we can and let them go at it.

Yep! For that matter, the Kurds can most likely handle their issues OK, if we prevent Turkey, Syria and Iran from messing with them.

I still feel terrible for both Shia and Sunni secularists. They get screwed no matter what.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. There's a civil war because we toppled the government and left a power vacuum. Into that vacuum, we added a 'democracy' and didn't consider that fundamentalists would take over, look at the previously powerful minority and say 'so long suckers'...or something to that effect.

To say that we're not going to be involved is ludicrous. We're responsible and there's no really good way out. It's all bad, it's all painful, it's all expensive and it's all going to take a long time.

Alternatively, let's turn tail and call in the UN blue helmets LOL. Oh yeah, forgot about the oil. This kind of conflict should make for another record profit year!

Yipee!! Mission Accomplished!
