>>>The argument that XM's disclosure is inadequate is wrong. And it is totally consistent with the way other industries report promotional subscribers (Sirius is a different matter).<<<<

>What other industry are you talking about? Do you have an example?
The reason that no other indsutry has "Promotional Subscribers" is that it is a proven concept to lose more money that you can ever hope to make.<

I have asked you for an answer on several occassions?

Message 22190940

But, here is the real kicker...
"(Sirius is a different matter). "

But, But, But.. you just said that XM's method is "totally consistent" with other industry promotional subscriber adds.. Then turn around and say that the other company in THIS SEGMENT reports their promotional subs differently than XM.

You can ignore it for only so long.. Maybe, just Maybe it's only XM that reports their "promotional subs" as subscribers then excludes them from the CHURN metrics when they don't turn.

You can either count them as subs, and then count them in your CHURN metrics,

or you can not count them as subs, and exclude them from your CHURN metrics.

So were you "making up this data" about "totally consistent" with other industry promotional subscriber adds. Or do you have any data point to actually back up your statements?

Just answer the question at hand without putting your "spin" on why YOU THINK that the way XM does it is correct.

Do you have other "industry examples"?? Or were you making up the statement because it sounded good?
