This is always going to be a touchy issue. For some the use of contraceptives is equal to killing.

I think that we should always strive to reduce the number of abortions. But that needs to be balanced with the right to privacy. Contraception is preferable to abortion. The RU486 pill would likely make the need for procedural abortion go down. Education and opportunity for young women will also reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies. I think that is the key area to address.

Abortion will continue to go on, as it has since for 1000's of years. Those of higher education and more resources will continue to have access to abortion even if Roe v Wade is overturned. Therefore that will be a law that discriminates against poor women.
