If this spring selling season is disappointing for the homebuilders, then I suspect a number of them is going to be seeing not only declining earnings this year but some could potentially be switching from record earnings to record losses.

Your scenario outlines many of the reasons I've gone heavily short on builders the past month and will stay that way into the fall market selloff..

Add in seeing how bad it has become from personal experiences plus the homebuilder charts. Most interesting of all is most have been showing much more downside volume than upside volume since last July-August..
