I wonder if the three groups (or however many there actually are) are looking at this historic occasion as a power grab. That is, they are unlikely to want splitting differences until they have given up trying to have it all or most of it.

It may take much more fighting before anyone is willing to compromise. It really seems as if there are many in the country and in the region (and here at home) who are absolutely intent on fighting for fighting's sake.

True, but why would that stop this outcome from happening? It didn't stop Palestine from happening. I can't see any way it isn't heading that way right now.
