By 1948, there were approximately 1.35 million Arabs and 650,000 Jews living between the Jordan and the Mediterranean"

Ha ha. What happened to 67% Jewish and 12% Palestinian Arab in 1905 from a post ago? Suddenly in 1947 it's looking like the Arabs are a 2 to 1 majority in the land that is going to turn into a Jewish homeland.

wait a sec, immigration of arabs into palestine under british mandate? But you told me they lived there for generations before jews came, did you lie?

I don't think I've ever said that. I've said "the land that they consider their homeland". I have no idea who was in Palestine in 1850. I have no problem pleading ignorance on many subjects!

What I have said is that the land currently occuppied by Israel has historically been multi-ethnic and multi-religious, and should remain as such. Even your numbers appear to support that historical view, although you don't support my proposed solution to the current problem.

"3. Zionist settlement between 1880 and 1948 did not displace or dispossess Palestinians. Every indication is that there was net Arab immigration into Palestine in this period, and that the economic situation of Palestinian Arabs improved tremendously under the British Mandate relative to surrounding countries. By 1948, there were approximately 1.35 million Arabs and 650,000 Jews living between the Jordan and the Mediterranean"

Give us a LINK, Likudnik! What's that from, the Zionist Encyclopedia?
