I don't see Roe being overturned. Count the votes. It's still 5-4 for Roe. I don't think Roberts will vote to overturn Roe, or even vote to hear the SD case, which means it won't even come up. What I do see happening is a ban on partial birth abortions.

The post exchange on this issue is moot. The gauntlet was thrown down this past week by SD now that Bush has filled the USSC with righties. We'll see how this plays out.

If Roe is overturned, it should largely deflate many on the right, while galvanizing the left. Should make for interesting elections in 2006 and 2008.


In theory, it should work that way, but these are strange times.
