They will know the layout of the ports......their vulnerabilities.

This is public knowledge as far as I know. At least, its not hard to get. Thousands of relatively low wage, relatively unrestricted workers man the operations of the port every day.

And as Tim has pointed out, if the goal were to attack the port itself, a ship could pull up next to the port and just detonate their nuclear bomb while waiting for the Coast Guard to check it out - same affect. You don't need to know where the port latrines are to attack the port.
