You are mixing up the issue. The hospitals in question in Mass can still tell patients about formula, can even give them formula, they just can't put it in the gift bags- thus making it look like a stamp of approval and a "suggestion". It's a very narrow issue here- with regard to this particular department of health decision in Mass. Obviously you can broaden it to include anything if you want to use your imagination- but if we limit it to the actual issue (which is what Karen and I were talking about), the actual issue doesn't have anything to do with "excluding other alternatives". Even I said they merely have to inform patients about the risks and benefits of all alternatives- which would mean they inform patients on all methods, but give the benefits and risks of all methods (and that only makes sense, imo).
