Hi Searle,

I am, by nature, an optimist. I have long believed that I can only judge the goodness of life based on my own experiences. I too get angry at the present state of the nation and there are many things that need fixing. That also makes me a realist. I long ago broke out of the mold of preexisting false beliefs or opinions that I refuse to change just because it happens to be the popular one.

Life is hard. That is why God only gives us the ability to only see to the end of our noses. If we could see the future I am sure most of us would just give up, knowing what we have to face over the course of our lives. That is why I consider the course of our nation to be unsure but nevertheless I look at whatever may happen to be necessary for eventual good of all.

What has that to do with politicians? There are good men and bad men. But I look upon humanity as there is a little bit of good in the worst of us and a little bit of bad in the best of us. Maybe there is a Martin Luther King or a John F. Kennedy out there just waiting for his or her appointed time. We shall see.

If I think about what is in store for us I see a country that is on the precipice of hard and difficult times for many. But when men become filled with power and riches they commit terrible, grievous times for all of us in their lust for more and more. The New World Order may or may not materialize. I hope not. But in any event, with the help of God, I plan to take care of my own to the best of my ability. If God places others in my path who really need help and I can help them I will. Otherwise, my family is my only concern.

The worst they can do is kill the flesh. Not a very happy thought but to find peace of mind you have to keep that attitude.

Now I know you did not expect me to lay a sermon on you. But it is time to do this because I cannot change the course of history, whatever it may turn out to be.

I am certain that God has blessed you more than many men, just as he has done for me. I know that you can find peace in gratitude for all you have.

Regards,

James
