>>>So while partitioning the country might be a future option, I opine that it should not be one that is shoved down the throats of the Iraqis. They will see "conspiracies" all around and claim that people like you ALWAYS had the partitioning of Iraq as part of your plan..

Dealing with Iraqis requires a generous application of reverse psychology. You have either wait for, or create, circumstances where their conspiracy theories actually lead them in the direction we'd like them to go.. namely a unified heterogenous and nationalist society that demands accountable and representative government that works for the benefit of all, not just a few.<<<

I'm not at all advocating that my plan be "shoved down the throats of Iraqis." I simply came up with an idea that otherwise might not have been considered, but one which might help to satisfy the needs of each particular group. And at least it's goal-oriented and, if you think about it, more practical for all parties.

Many of us predicted on the DON'T START THE WAR thread that the factionalism would prevail in the aftermath of Bush's invasion. But no one was listening then. Maybe you should give my idea a bit more respect. I was right then and, who knows, maybe I'm right now.

>>>Any partitioning plan would be as a response and solution to all-out civil war breaking out and all sides recognizing they can not dominate the other party.<<<

What makes you think civil war hasn't already broken out? Just 'cause the American media doesn't report it that way doesn't mean it hasn't already happened. It has!

Sorry to change the subject, but the below news should bring Bush's poll ratings down to near where Cheney's are at:
