It's too silly and inconsequential to spend much time on it. When they try to teach it in the schools let me know and I'll bitch about it (not because it sounds like a religion, but because it sounds like stupid pseudoscience.

You can hear people testify about being probed by aliens on the radio too, but most of us don't spend a lot of time "questioning" that either.

My wife thought the feet should be pointed to the north if one is facing north also.

"Facing" is an odd word in that context. I agree with you that "facing" suggests that your feet are north of your head, which is why I posted what I did. "Pointed" is probably a better word to use.

I had never heard of them. No, it's not like pool magnets. It's about lining your body up with the earth's magnetism.

Have you heard similar stories on NPR?

Maybe someone else can respond to that. I never listen to NPR. Sounds more like something you'd find on the House and Garden channel.

I am asking because there was this big commotion in the media regarding ID, and I do not see anyone questioning this.

I don't see any connection.
