Cap at 90K--superrich are ALL those who make over 90K. I dont think so. FICA tax is killing middle class as is. Raising the threshhold doesnt solve the problem On the first 90k of income 7% or so is taxed. Perhaps an exemption on the amount earned between 10k-20k--everyone should pay something. Tnen maybe another exemption for families where there are two earners or an exemption between 90k and 100k before it resumes again. Like with tom friedmans gas tax you guys are too quick to kill middle class and cause recession. 100k earner in NYC is middle class and a family with two 90k earners pays 7% flat tax on 180k before income tax even hits. Maybe make fica deductible on income tax in some way.

The "tax the super rich" wasn't for just any SS cap. It was to fix the huge deficit which has been caused by the windfall TO the super rich by the giveaways by Bush and the other republican whores like Fritz and DeLay. Fix the deficit and you fix SS. Currently those super rich are sucking up all the tax payer dollars that are causing the deficit. Like the recent Cheney's Halliburton asking for 3x as many $$$s by delivering gas to Iraq. It's criminal to every American. And the deficit has nothing to do with any freaking economic growth BS that the republicans are selling. It is a pure and simple the pillaging of American taxpayer money by a few Bush cronies. These people are not like normal Americans to care for SS. They have more money to last them 1000 life times. They don't care one bit about SS. Which is why they don't give a sh*t about the deficit or SS. Their aim is to suck up as many of the American $$$s while they still can, build their secure fortresses and then sit back in their secure mansions and watch the rest of Americans struggle towards retirement.
