>>>You're not Johnny Cash, you can't walk the line... you either want to destroy the terrorist network or support their reason to exist... you can't have it both ways...
<<<

LOL--Although I play guitar, sing and write songs, Johnny Cash I ain't! Bush is on record as stating the battle against terrorism will be a long one. I agree. But the root of the problem is influencing the young Muslims who populate more than half of the Middle East. Unfortunately, Bush's scorched-earth, 'Ring of Fire' policy is worsening the situation not improving it.

Think. You don't stop the varmits from eating your seed by killing off the varmits with a rifle, do ya? No, you use the mind and make a scarecrow. The point I'm making is that education is the best means for combating terrorism. War will only provoke more, especially given the nature of what terrorism is and how it works.

A world united, on one page, makes for a better scarecrow. These days, the Bush and Cheney policies stand alone in world opinion. How can they educate when no one will listen to them? You see, although they might like the tune, they don't really like the Ring of Fire.

I still don't understand how you feel a military can destroy "terrorism," especially when the military actions tend to grow and spawn younger generations of "terrorists." You've seen what our military actions in the Mid East have done to places like Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq where hardline extremists fared far better electorially than what was expected.

I'm sorry, but you're gonna have to at some point admit that the current policy is growing more terrorists, not making fewer of them. The military to beat back a wrinkle in the rug simply won't work, as the wrinkle will show up somewhere else in the rug.

You might give serious due to the quality of what is stated below:

For quality point of view purposes, I thought some of you folks would enjoy reading the below:

All You Need to Know and Believe to Be a Republican

* Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

* Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

* Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to the spirit of international harmony.

* The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing UN resolutions against Iraq.

* A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

* The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

* If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

* A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

* Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.

* Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

* A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

* Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

* The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.

* Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

* What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.
