The smearvets pulled off a real coup, no? I mean Kerry sat back and let them smear him for weeks and weeks without even a reply. I think that sunk his campaign. In this day and age of dirty politics, you need to respond immediately and forcefully to those kinds of smears.

Since he sat back, the echo chamber on the internet and the TV talking heads had Kerry way behind the 8 ball by the time he responded. That and his absolute silence on the flip flop of first I was for the war before I was against it before I was for it.

I mean when most of America has the IQ of a fence post, and that's giving them credit above and below the barbed wire, and they hear that kind of stuff they're not going to vote for your man. You can't be flippin and floppin about something as important as going to war.

Rove stuffed and mounted Kerry before the first vote was cast. And Kerry just sat there like a deer in the headlights. Either he's a political dumb bell or his campaign staff were and he was too big of a dumb bell to see it.

To win the presidency you have to either be a strong guy or have a strong guy behind you. Come out swinging, or be ready to go on the defensive and block every punch. Which is easier? Rove knows...come out swinging...and hitting below the belt is not only acceptable in politics...it's the way to win...no if's and's or but's.
