We eradicated polio. We were able to do that because the people who could take responsibility stepped up and took action. The victims of polio were helpless victims of an incidious disease. We knew what needed to be done to stop the spread of polio so, we all took the cure to help those who would be victims in the future.

We also know what can be done to stop the spread of AIDs. Those who are in a position to do something about it, don't. Ironically they are the very persons most likely to complain that others should be doing more.
