So you don't think that the US (and the world, for that matter) has become a better place since WWII?

I think the US and the world has gotten better but I think government has gotten worse.

re: In any case neither Bush nor Clinton (at least not Bill) will be running in 2008. Maybe we can revisit this discussion when we know who the two candidates will be.

I would be happy to do that, I wouldn't be surprised if we were on the same side.

Ok lets.

I probably would be surprised but it is possible.

I know he was a Democrat, but come on man, he did more than any President in your lifetime to get the crap in balance

The net result during his presidency was that the budget was more balanced than at any time in my lifetime. How much of that is do to Clinton is debatable, and balancing the budget, while usually a good thing, is far from the only issue I am concerned about.

If you can't get past the false PARTY dogma (and it is pure illusion, as you MUST know at this point) then you look like a phony, a partisan dressed in libertarian clothes.

I'm not sure what you mean. GW is no libertarian. Neither was his father. Reagan was probably closer but that is a low hurdle to jump. All of the presidents since FDR where supporters of big government. Pointing out that Clinton was a supporter of big government while at the same time saying every recent president was too is hardly an example of being locked in to believing that the Republican presidents have been a bunch of libertarians.
