CB, the Taliban not only funded Al Qaeda, they fought with them. You are also skipping over Massar al Sharif, which was a Taliban-executed massacre following the same Salafi ideology.

What is so hard to understand here? They were allies. Close allies. Who both had zero problems with deliberately massacring large numbers of civilians.

It is believed even amongst the most anti-Iraq war, military-skeptic, Bush haters in Congress that taking out the Taliban was justified in response to 9/11.

If giving Al Qaeda a place to live, and other support, makes an entire country complicit in 9/11

Nobody is talking about the entire country of Afghanistan being complicit in 9/11. Nobody is complaining about ordinary Afghans coming to America to study.

We are complaining because this young man was a diplomat for the Taliban, a willing member of the government. Most of all, we are complaining because Yale doesn't seem to have had the least ethical problem with admitting him, even with bending the rules to admit him - even though he has not renounced his former connections to the Taliban.
