Don, I agree with everything you said except that by waiting for estimates to be adjusted you may be failing to read the signs that already point out what is coming.

The yield curve was at best partially inverted which hints at a possible recession or at least an economic slowdown. The market is undergoing one distribution day after another which indicates institutional selling. Market breadth has been flashing negative divergences for some time. Stocks are selling off on good news as well as bad. Only defensive stocks are doing well. This is looking more and more like a market top.

Of course I have been expecting an October bottom this year for the market. I will tell you now that it just would be too soon for the market to bottom even if we get a top now.

Of course I'm probably all wrong anyway.
