will likely spook a lot of investors into believing the NSM turn around story is all but over.

Consistent performance is not rewarded;
you need to screw up like Intel in order to create an opportunity for improvement.
Chip analysts depend on the cycle - if necessary the analysts will create their own cycle.
They must hate seeing global chipsales going into fourth year of expansion without major pullback (knock, knock on wood).
The TSMC flashback from 2002 shows how rotten the situation was in 2002 but the downturn created "growth" but only because of the severe downturn.
You can look at SOXX chart and say there was a bottom - but does anybody remember how it felt back in 2002? Are we close to the same 2002 situation or are we just spoiled and bored by steady, moderate growth?
