There can be non economic motivations. The oil in her ground may stink.if there is so much more oil supply that will be coming 'sooooooooooooooon' from all over the world, why did US production peak and decline over the past years? Because 'crats in Congress over the last 30 years have limited the quantity, place, and price of exploration. It has been solely a misbegotten and silly "green philosophy" coming from them that created the withering of the industry. We can have a greener environment and plentiful oil, but that wouldn't serve the true intent of all 'crat action: war on wealth. If the other sources around the globe will provide massive supply now that prices are higher, that is fine, but at some point the supply won't dwindle? Mankind will never use all the oil that has already been found. This is my greatest contribution to the theory of oil. If you want the details, they're in this thread back aways. Suffice it to say materials science and other technological developments will render the argument moot or proved in 20 years.Where do you get the theory that oil fell into earth from space Oil was formed with the earth from the methane ammonia water cloud that supplied the ingredients. Oil did not "fall" to earth. It was cooked in an extended atmosphere which reached out to the moon's orbit and coalesced gradually over billions of years after the Si - Ni core had been formed.and there is hundreds or thousands of years of supply to find? Do you really think the Romans would have been justified in extrapolating that the Empire would need 10 billion horses and 10 billion slaves in order to operate in the year 2000? You can't apply such narrow ideas to the future. I have colleagues in physics who claim aliens from other worlds can't exist because if they did, they would have already contacted us. If I were an alien, I wouldn't contact us. Who wants to talk to primitives and apes?I would like to read more about it. You won't get much from the world of science since most scientists are prejudiced against oil. They start with the assumption that there's no oil left, and conclude that oil exploration is futile and should be prohibited to save the environment. They have a holy duty to protect the environment at all costs even if it means killing off the human race so that aliens will have a new place to colonize. The aliens set the odds at 1/3 that that will be the outcome.
