Terms are limited by the people most affected by them: the constituents. If Orrin Hatch or Senator Stevens aren't representing their people well, they will be voted out.

Smaller states would be overwhelmed by states with a lot of representatives. Smaller states need longevity in order to have their interests protected.

I've followed your commentary for years, and sometimes you are right. This is not one of them.
