Mr. profile,

Listening to (and following) the extreme bearishness over at Big Dog's place has been very painful to my trading portfolio.

I have written MANY calls on EOG, etc. I hope that EOG, PTEN, and others retreat somewhat between today and expiry this Friday.

Re: PTEN ..... I provided an analysis yesterday on PTEN over in the BBR. I don't know if you saw it. The trade would have initiated today.

>>> If the technician were to take an entry here, price would need to trade above $26.93, and the trade would be a short term trade. This past week's low would serve as the initial stop. Profits would be taken in partial sells, starting with 1/3 of a position sold at a $1.00 per share profit, another 1/3 at $1.50 and a trailing stop for the remainder as price is sure to pull back and test the lows on a move into resistance, unless we can see a high volume day with volume at least 50% above average.

If I were looking for a longer term trade, I wouldn't buy PTEN until it can set a 30 day high in price. That's my technical view of the current price action.

Nothing has changed from that position.
