AK - Don't you think that a Q or 2 losses might be a legitimate strategic choice if they're confident they can maintain and expand on that MS with NGA when it's out in volume? Not saying that it'll happen, just hypothetically speaking. It can be harder and more costly to win back lost designs, than to take some loss, keep share and make it up when the goodies come in.

Re: you can not be serious, LOL, extra 1%-3% of market share at the expense of 30% of revenue?

I feel the revenue was going to disappear no matter what. Intel doesn't produce quality CPUs. The alternative is lower prices.

Even if AMD had no contributions from FAB36 this quarter I believe shifting some production away from low end Semprons and toward mobiles, servers and high-end desktops would come close to the same short term effect on Intel as adding capacity across the board.

With no AMD changes at all Intel would be pressured to cut prices. Inventories were rising and market share falling without any help from FAB36.
