Some General that was with Rummy today was parroting the " We gave them the opportunity, what they do with it is up to them line" today. I remember saying that would be the exit rationale.

I think saddam was more than a nuisance but other than that, i think you are pretty much right. The question is when will rummy go. This offends me, as a capitalist more than for any other reason. Rummy reminds me of that Chainsaw Al guy over at Sunbeam. Man that pisses me off more than syls posts.

Apparently the delusions were much worse than even some of us thought. Rummy/Franks et al ignored direct evidence of the Fedayeen even while the US was moving towards Baghdad. They even threatened to fire the guy who was talking about them publicly.

It's just typical admin behavior. If it doesn't fit in their image of the world, they ignore it and threaten the messenger.

It's no wonder that this 'war' is as messed up as it is. The guys at the head of it aren't paying any attention to reality. This is why they come up with their 'mission accomplished', 'the last throes of the insurgency', etc. stuff.

I don't think they've learned anything except to be even more threatening to messengers, belligerent and hermetically sealed. I heard that even Sandra Day O'Connor, put on the SC by Reagan, is publicly saying that we could be looking at dictatorship...here. She apparently used words like Nazi and Fascism.

Unbelievable.

We are in such trouble.
