they can't understand because of their biases, not because of some structural problem with their brain. people can't understand because the truth is too frightening or ugly for them and is automatically and instantly rejected.

I think arrogance means using one's superiority in a way that would be interpreted as mean instead of nurturing These nuances are usually conveyed verbally. Most of the time you'll find people who hurl the arrogance invective at me do so because I've refuted them out of hand, they don't quite know how, they suspect it, they fumble a lame counter. Since the know the counter is lame, engage in j'accuse. by someone who is mistakenly more interested in how information is presented than what the information actually is. Yes. Watch for it. It seems clear that this is true, rots are smarter than terriers, but the problem is that all dogs have zero intelligence. They have emotions and they react to stimuli, but they can't use written language. We can't measure animal intelligence because animals can't formulate their thoughts in written language. Writing is the definition of intelligence. Similarly, the aliens think we have nothing but the most rudimentary intelligence. We can't understand them because they communicate by "wireless" at speeds way beyond any human computer.
