Not correct. It passed Congress and went out to the states. It was defeated by the population. Now there was a lot of Swiftboating about separate male/female bathrooms being illegal under the ERA, but the bottom line is that the ERA flamed out because the majority of women voted against it. Female voters are no more progressive than male voters, despite what RAH claimed...

You're wrong Amy. Both the House and the Congress passed it, the President didn't veto and it went to the states. It was a constitutional amendment. It was on the ballot in many states and the voters, especially the women voters, failed to vote for it. I voted for it.
