YOu are dead on about Bush but the subsequent comparison of the economy to the weather is wrong imho. Bush has done a good job with the economy with tax cuts (congress) and low rates (fed). Both the leg and the fed take the pres in office seriously when making policy. AG went further than he would have and supply side tax cuts with little spending restraints was quite important in getting the economy out of the deflationary funk/potential deflation/depression that we were in. A more conservative president would have wanted more paygo and tax cuts would have gotten bogged down in the numerous fights over which spending got cut. So Bush as the drunken sailor who saved the economy is a good analogy. But as far as this MSM nonsense that this thread seems to buy into almost unanimously, you are dead right. Overall Bush admin gets a Gentlemens D as a grade over the first 5 years and thats quite a drop from the A- i started him out with after the first two.
