Why, oh why, should we give Bush, or any other President, credit or blame for the economy?

What, pray tell, do Presidents do for or against the economy?

Are they entrepreneurs? Do they start businesses? Do they invent new ways of doing things? Do they build better mousetraps?

Do they pass legislation?

What?

When the Democrats praised Clinton for the boom in the late nineties, I said the same thing.

When they blamed Bush for the bust in the early years of his administration, I said the same thing.

And nobody's ever given me an intelligent answer.

So, no, nobody (except Bushbots) is going to praise Bush for the economy. It's nonsensical. Magical thinking, the type you see being exhibited by the naive and the primitive. May as well praise him or blame him for the weather.
