Like that aibo the dog, for example, what was THAT about?

That is a big product in Japan. There are senior citizens there that have bought them to replace pets. I am not joking they are very popular.

i am not sure how much weight Stringer really carries at Sony. the Japanese Nikkei editorial page has often said he is a lame duck and the company is effectively run out of Japan. Stringer probably is not even aware of what Japan's business paper of record says about him since he doesn't speak or read Japanese, LOL. this is like MSFT hiring some French ex-Olympic judge to replace Balmer.

truly whoever thought it was a good idea to put an unproven, unneeded, hyperexpensive $350 next-gen DVD player in the PS3 (meaning it will be twice as expensive as the 360 AT LEAST), and delay its launch ONE YEAR vs. the 360, is a complete idiot. this will go down as the generation where Sony loses the console wars to MSFT and has to retreat to the increasingly irrelevant Japanese market. their share outside Japan will be WAY below MSFT's. MSFT has the chance to ship 10 MILLION units before PS3 sales start. at 10 million units, the game is already over.

If Sony is a content provider, they should sell their electronics division. And vice versa.
