It was a terrible ordeal for the young men and women of that day but it taught us a very important lesson that has been followed in the conflicts since. Well at least it's a message the Republicans got. Declare the intent then get out of the militaries way and let them have at it.

When Reagan went to Grenada to get our students he was criticized for all of the manpower and equipment he sent. He didn't. He told the military what he wanted to happen and the military told him how they would like to go about that and he said have at it. Nice change of pace. We had massive superiority why not use it and we did.

Maybe it is just the Republicans that understand it. Peanut boy's micro managing and waffling brought us the disaster in the desert and 400 some days of being made fools of in the ME.
