I got some under $285 - I forgot what my lowest price was.

Gordon Brown let the world know about the sale weeks ahead of time. He sold 60% of the gold reserves.

Wish I had bought more ;-)
I feel grateful to Mr. Brown.

Not sure, but I think some in the UK may feel differently.

Look how far down the UK is on this list !

Mr. Brown also has unusual ideas about civil liberties -

from Tim Worstall's blog -

Gordon Brown.

Did Gordon Brown really say this?

This week has shown us to be in the last stages of intellectual decadence: ID cards are necessary, said Gordon Brown on Monday, "as a protection of people's individual civil liberties". A more dishonest justification for the extension of state power cannot be imagined.

He’s either a liar or an ass. Your choice.

Excerpted from a blog, a different experience in South Africa -

Sorry to sound like a really gloaty thing here, but Trevor Manuel, the South African Minister of Finance, presented his budget here yesterday. GOV.ZA had a revenue overrun of many many billions (that's right, they collected more than they planned) and as well as increasing spending (bad thing but it keeps the peasants happy) he gave us all a bit of a tax break too.

Npw Trev's being doing this quite frequently in his 10 years in office.

DELETED

We can always live in hope, I'll just be doing it with more of my cash in my pocket; haha
