I'm with you Kevin. I find it quite amazing enough that the 19 hijackers were able to keep the secrect and pull the thing off, let alone the demonstatedly incompetent Bush government!

Even further out are the guys, some of whom post around here, that insist the buildings were brought down with demolition charges, or that the aircraft were remotely piloted drones, etc.

Tigerpaw's theory seems a lot nearer to reasonable compared to them, all the Bushies needed to do in his is ignore evidence - not really that much of a stretch! But, it requires that one assign them the wisdom to know real intel from bogus intel..

I think Robert's committee is hiding a lot of info, but at the moment I believe it's just embarrasing stuff that would show that the Bushies SHOULD have know what was going down, but didn't. Maybe we'll know after '06?

how do you have such a fair reaching conspiracy without someone spilling the beans?

There weren't that many people directly involved.

Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, Feith, and the publicists like Grover Norquist. They had been working together on this project for 20 years or more and by the time they could actually do something about it they had a very close-knit group that has been determined to just stonewall it.

The relative newcomers like Rove, and Rice, and Bush Jr. himself were only told the cover story, but even that was enough to make some like Ashcroft nervous. The idea that it is far reaching, or that a conspiracy means that they carried out the attack on the trade center themselves is a diversion from what really happened. The conspirators just happened to be in key positions (on purpose) and the one person who should have been able to see the big picture, Bush Jr. was a clueless idiot.
