Apparently there is a Microsoft culture. I took a class from a guy who had worked at Microsoft in Redmond. He said one of the honchos there went away for a week or so and when he got back he couldn't find his office. It was there, but his associates had sheetrocked over the door and painted it like a wall.

Peter, I do not envy Bill Gates his billions. I curse my computer every day that I am forced to use his chunky products (company computer, you know; ergo, no choice).

I would maintain there are just oodles of people whose fortunes came from sources other than connection to Microsoft and who use Microsoft software who might be cursing Mr. Gates.

Many people throughout history have been powerful. Some, more than others, have been more ethical in wielding their power.

A little something I wrote in 1998. If you feel so inclined, do follow the thread forward.
