yeah, well thats what I thought... the bottom line is that in 2004 the whole thing needed to be scrapped and started over. This is something that had been in development for 5 years at that time (assuming R&D started in 2000, which I think is correct).

the prior project winXP released just fine, and won accolades, even. It was released in 01, so was started in the 90s.

I continue to believe they changed the R&D approach in some way for Longhorn.
