Wasn't the implosion basically that management realized something? How would a blogger know the internal thoughts of management? Google has so many bloggers and people whose whole job is figuring out whats going on over there there always seems to be buzz when something like this is forthcoming. Of course it could have been out there and I never noticed but I am certain that every analyst was mentioning the imminent release of Vista as a threat right around the GOOG IPO. But vista had totally imploded 2 mos prior. You would have thought somebody would have "gotten the word out".
